Once again I will be taking part in Stroud Open Studios week-ends in May, as one of more than 80 artists participating in this event, now in its 19th year.
I look forward to welcoming people from all over the country and often also from overseas to my own studio in Bisley Road, which is listed in the yellow Open Studios brochure now available online at www.sitefestival.org.uk. You can also pick up a hard copy of the brochure from many outlets in Stroud including the Tourist Information office in the Subscription rooms. The "Sub Rooms" will be hosting the Taster Exhibition where one piece of work by each of the artists taking part will also be on show. This Taster runs from 1st May through to 16th May. Please check Stroud Subscription Rooms for Opening times as these may vary throughout the week.
My own preparations are well under way, and I have started to hang my latest pictures in my studio, where I will be showing original stamp collages, prints and will also have greetings cards on sale. I also have a Quiz for children, which some adults also like to do!! Hope to see you .. and will have the kettle on!
My studio is a The Lawn, 132 Bislye Road, Stroud - full directions in pen Studios Brochure. Please park in Bisley Road near Cemetery due to limited parking adjacent to studio. It's just a short walk along the unmade road which will be well sign-posted.

Open studio here on 23rd and 24th November 10 - 5 pm
It's always a pleasure to open my studio to visitors and friends and many of my visitors have become friends too both with me and with each other!! I think the subject of my work which is mainly stamp collages all made of stamps and stamp related materials, including stamp catalogues, envelopes and cards etc is a great topic for conversation and nostalgic recollections. I have been labelled the Stamp Lady of Stroud but hope that even those who are not stamp collectors, or never have been, will find something of interest!
I've even got a visitor promising to bring along her stamp designs, which will be lovely to see!
So I look forward to Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November when my studio will be open from 10 - 5. In case you may need further information my telephone number is 01453 757933 and please park in Bisley Road by the cemetery and walk the short distance along to my studio which will be signposted with yellow and black Open Studio signs. It's about 200 metres along and old shoes or wellies definitely advised if it's wet or has been due to the "country lane" and if coming later in the afternoon you may need a torch as we have no street lights along here. It's certainly a beautiful place to live and the views when you arrive are fantastic, but please take care to avoid the puddles or jump in them and have fun if you're inclined!

Landscape and Garden paintings by Rosemary Lewis
The variety of art on show during the Open Studios week-ends which take place every year in Stroud never ceases to amaze and surprise. I visited Rosemary's Lewis's studio in Bisley Road by appointment as I have my own studio open and need to be here to receive visitors, and was delighted to see beautiful acrylic, pastel and mixed media works featuring very familiar territory. The paintings of Conygre wood are sensitively executed and Rosemary has painted many of these in situ. Her garden has also provided inspiration for her work which can be seen on her website http://www.rosielewis.co.uk/ Open Studios continues on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June. Also see venue 37, P. 21 of the Open Studios catalogue http://www.sitefestival.org.uk/ . Catalogue gives details of all the other artists' studios which will be open then.
